About Meet Danie Smuts

Mr. Smuts obtained a LL. B Law degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2008 and completed his Articles of Clerkship at Malan Lourens Viljoen Attorneys Inc, MLV Attorneys, in 2011. After being admitted as an attorney in February 2011, he continued to practice as an Associate at the same firm up until his resignation in August 2011. In September 2011, he started a career in Prosecution and was employed by the National Prosecuting Authority as a Public Prosecutor. He was initially stationed at Athlone Magistrate's Court but also prosecuted at various other Courts in the Cape Peninsula. He founded Smuts Attorneys in June 2014 after taking over the criminal law practice of Christelle Herrmann, a former Regional Court Control Prosecutor. He is a well respected and experienced litigant with right of appearance in the High Court.
